Stavanger municipality invites to a "rediscovery party"!

The fact that the time with strict restrictions is over has already been celebrated spontaneously in many ways. We have cheered and sent up fireworks. Now that the party atmosphere has subsided, we can rediscover the entire width of our beautiful cultural and nightlife city.

Program Saturday Domkirkeplassen

12.00-16.00

Experience fresh talent, humor, pop, rap, punk, classical and jazz afrobeat, at Domkirkeplassen.

12.00: Freya & Helena. The rap duo from Sola just won the Mablis scholarship and will play a concert at the festival next year. Freya Smørdal Walker and Helena Fadnes Aardalsbakke collaborate on songwriting and ideas and have participated in UKM (Ungdommens kulturmønstring) a number of times.

12.45: Sløtface. Stavanger's punk pride which in 2017 won the Spellemann Prize in the class rock. The band was born in Stavanger in 2012 and consists of vocalist Haley Shea, guitarist Tor-Arne Vikingstad, bassist Lasse Lokøy and drummer Nils Jørgen Nilsen. The debut album "Try Not To Freak Out" was embraced by fans and the music press at home and abroad. Sløtface also got Spellemann for the album and has since traveled the world on tour. Between battles, they have recorded their follow-up album "Sorry for the Late Reply". The new album is described by the band itself as more brave, raw and minimalist than the previous one. Vocalist Haley Shea has let emotions such as anger, confusion and vulnerability control the songwriting in the process. Sløtface is a total package. They have for years worked hard to give the audience unpolished punk pop, with a good dose of social justice, environment and feminism.

13.40: Stavanger Chamber Music Festival presents: Andreas Wetås Jara (cello) and Tormund Blikra Vea (guitar). The young duo offers fiery Argentine tango from Astor Piazolla.

14.15: Jonahh + Kulturskolen. Jonahh is a fresh and catchy new shot in the music fauna in Stavanger. After a few concerts, both Jonahh and the audience got a foothold in his performances, and Jonahh's music boils down to the charts of NRK and the streaming giant Spotify. At this concert he brings with him Johannes Gustav Lunde, Martin Elnes and Jonathan Johannessen who are all students from Stavanger Cultural School.

14.45: June Kommune. June Kommune appeared on the ice in Stavanger when the corona ravaged the worst and we all needed something to laugh at.

15.20: Blåsenborg recreation team. Exciting Afrobeat dance band inspired by Fela Kuti who offers both recreation and folk parties! The band consists of a bunch of nice people from Stavanger's jazz scene: Jens Borge, Aksel Røed, Kristoffer Riis, Skage Larsen, Heidi Kvelvane, Raymond Lavik, Thomas Torstrup, Ole Martin Rosvold and Lars Andreas Meen.

Journalist, comedian and influencer Veronica Simoné Fjeld leads us safely and humorously through the program from the stage. She promises high energy and engaging program management.

In addition, Øivind Ekeland & Co promises great activity in Vågen pre-game to Viking-Haugesund.
