Change of GP

You have the right to switch your General Practitioner (GP) twice a year. It is Helsenorge that administers the GP arrangement. Through Helsenorge you can:

• Check who your GP is
• See your GP's address and phone number
• Switch GP
• Sign up to, or out of the arrangement
• Search GPs using different criteria
• See how many switches you have left
• See who your former GPs are
  

Remember that you don't need to have reported a move to Sandnes or Stavanger to have a GP here. People who have moved within Norway and reported the move to Folkeregisteret (the population register) can get their old GP back if they move back to their home municipality within three years.
