Young Researchers' Night: Do you trust?
The Young Academy of Norway invites once more to the Young Researchers Nights in Stavanger, this time at Litteraturhuset i Stavanger, as part of the National Science Week, Forskningsdagene 2026.
Trust to research and to research-based knowledge is decisive for a well-functioning society, even more so in times shaped by global unrest, rapid technological changes and a growing attack on academic freedom. All at once, perspectives grounded in research are ever more challenged by an increasing amount of information, disinformation and polarisation. At such times, it is not only important to show how research contributes to critical thinking and enlightened public debate, but also to discuss the foundations of it: trust.
During this evening, we will explore what trust is, how it is built and maintained, and what happens when it is broken? We will discuss the role of research, the position of early career researchers, and invite you to explore how we can build trust to other people.
The event will be held in English.
We will serve pizza. In order to avoid food waste, please register for the event using this form (Nettskjema): https://nettskjema.no/a/649738#/page/1
