New CEO at SiS

Elisabeth Faret is leaving her position as business manager in Rogaland County Municipality.

– The board of SiS set high standards when we were looking for our new CEO, and we were searching for a person with both political, academic, and commercial background. We are very pleased that Elisabeth Faret chose to accept the position, says the chairman of the board at SiS, Sander Brimsøe Thomassen.

Faret has previously worked as an opportunity developer/marketing manager at Greater Stavanger and as director of continuing and further education at UiS. She highlights leadership, marketing, and political experience as useful qualities to bring to her new position.

SiS operates health services, a textbook store, student housing, a kindergarten, the region's largest sports center, and several cafés for nearly 13,000 students in Stavanger and Sandnes. Faret will now have overall responsibility for all these areas of operation.

– I think it will be absolutely fantastic to work for the students in the region. After six years as director of continuing and further education at UiS, this feels like coming home. I also look forward to telling even more people how great Stavanger and Sandnes are as student cities, says Faret.

The new CEO will take office on July 1 this year.
