Happy Women's Day!

To celebrate this day, we want to highlight an issue that is important to us: Women's health.

Did you know that female students havetwice as many physical health issues as men? We want to help change that by using our voice to ensure female students have a better everyday life, and by providing you with a dose of information that can make your day a little bit easier.

🍆 Contraception tailored for you

As part of the health services at SiS, you can get advice and guidance from our health nurse to find the very best contraception for you. Not only that, you also get a free prescription as part of the offer. It's also free to insert, remove, and change implants with us.

However, if you choose not to talk to us, the most important thing is to seek advice from professional healthcare personnel and not from a random website or social media. Unfortunately, there's a lot of 'fake news' out there.

🦠 Help when accidents happen

This is the time to explore, including sexually. Unfortunately, sexually transmitted diseases are a risk if you're not careful and don't protect yourself. If an accident does happen, it's good to know we're here. You can test yourself atone of our self-test stationsaround various campuses.

If the test is positive for chlamydia, you'll be notified, and we'll arrange antibiotics for you. All you need to do is pick it up from us. If the test is positive for other types of sexually transmitted diseases, we'll refer you further so you get the help you need.

🩸 Periods can be a pain

Sometimes you can experience irregular bleeding and/or severe menstrual pain. These are unpleasant issues that can ruin even the best day. Don't hesitate to contact our health nurse if you experience this. She can give you advice and further help.

Pssst – are you a student at UiS? Then it might be good to know that some of our cafés, Optimisten, Sentralen, and Entusiasten, sell both tampons and pads. You'll find the same at our sports center.

👋🏽 We're here for you

No matter what advice and help you need regarding your health, we're here. Contactour health nurse, and she will help you or refer you further if needed.

Fill out the fields for a chance to win a menstrual cup!
