To help you get to know your student city even better, we’ve set up two weeks for you with events that are free or have great student discounts, called Studentuka, from August 31 to September 14!

We have also found several great student offers that you can use all year round, whenever it suits you.

🎈 Free and discounted events during Studentuka, August 31 – September 14

You’ve probably heard of Fadderuka, but what actually happens afterwards? This is when student life really begins, and maybe you’re new to Stavanger, or maybe you just don’t know the area and everything it has to offer that well yet? Either way, we’ve created Studentuka so that you, as a student, can get to know the Stavanger area better, maybe find your new favorite spot, and hopefully meet new people along the way!

How about a bit of culture? There will be several museums open and, among other things, a Silent Book Club. Or something a little different? A surfing course at the Jæren beaches or Paint on Pots? All this and much more can be found in Studentuka – completely free or with a student discount.

💸 Student offer – whenever it suits you

Look for shops, eateries and venues with the red sign that says "Hei student!" – they have a student offer for you there.

As a student in Stavanger, you are automagically part of SiS – meaning you don’t need to “sign up” to use our services. All year round you’ll find, among other things, a student calendar full of great events for you as a student.

Finally, a bit more about your student city:

⛰️ Stavanger and Sandnes are cities located right between the sea and the mountains. Here you can surf the waves along Jæren in the morning and eat dinner on a mountaintop the very same day. World-famous hikes like Preikestolen and Kjeragbolten are also not far away.

💃🏽 Spectacular nature experiences aside – the region also offers a vibrant cultural and nightlife scene, plenty of shopping opportunities, and everything from Michelin-starred restaurants to a half baguette with cheese and seasoning, served warm (ask if you don’t know what that is).
