Tips for finding accomodation 🏡

Haven’t secured student housing yet?

Didn't apply for student housing, or are you still on the waiting list?

The application deadline for the main admission round was 20 April. If you apply after this date, you'll be placed at the end of the waiting list, and we can't guarantee you'll be offered a room.

We recommend exploring the private rental market as well. You can find accommodation on finn.no, husleie.no, hybel.no, Link boligutleie or at Utleiemegleren.

What should you be aware of when renting a private home?

✅ Check with the municipality that the apartment is approved for renting out. 💸 The deposit must go into a separate joint account, not the landlord’s personal account. 🤚🏽 Pay close attention to the rules for maintenance of the home. This is often where conflicts arise, so carefully check what applies in your case. ⚡️ If you are going to pay for electricity, make sure you get documentation showing that the electricity you pay for is actually the electricity you have used. 💬 Ask questions! If there is anything in the rental contract you don’t understand, don’t hesitate to get it clarified. 🙏🏽 Home contents insurance! Above all, don’t forget contents insurance. This protects both what you own in the home and ensures you get help – including financial help – if something happens to the home. For example, you may have a temporary home covered at the same price if your home becomes uninhabitable. Source: Leieboerforeningen.no

Are you a landlord and have a vacant appartment?

You should list your property on finn.no, hybel.no, Link boligutleie or with Utleiemegleren, so that prospective students looking for accomodation can find it.
