PPE Forum examines artificial intelligence from philosophical, technological, linguistic, and social science perspectives.

Artificial intelligence is shaping an increasing number of areas of our society, but how should we really understand this technology?

Is it primarily an innovation comparable to the typewriter, the internet, and the pocket calculator, or does it represent something fundamentally new in human history?

In this panel discussion, we explore artificial intelligence from philosophical, technological, linguistic, and social science perspectives.

Through which lens should we view these developments: innovation, working life, power relations, or perhaps colonial structures?
Is artificial intelligence a tool that can free people from monotonous work, or does it contribute to greater alienation and new forms of control?
And how realistic is the idea that we are in the process of creating an intelligence that could surpass our own?

Drawing on a range of academic approaches, the panel invites discussion about the opportunities, challenges, and consequences of a technology that is already shaping the future.
