For nearly ten years, brenn. has been the definitive fusion of Norwegian rock and pop.

Its creators, Edvard and Rémy, have managed to combine their two vastly different personalities to create a band with both broad and niche appeal. With their chaotic live shows and eclectic stage presence, they completely won over the Norwegian music scene when they debuted in 2019, and that same year they won the Spellemann Award in the rock category. Since then, they have become a fixture at clubs and festivals across the country. On Friday, September 24, they will release their fourth self-titled (!) album—brenn—and, of course, embark on a suitably massive tour of Norway.

Since last time, the duo have each quit their jobs to pursue music, developed anxiety, taught themselves to produce, moved back into shared housing, and grown up.

The boys describe the self-titled album brenn. as their most honest and fun album yet, and it is the first album they have produced entirely on their own. “We’ve locked ourselves away in a tiny studio for six months now, and the result actually slaps pretty hard,” Rémy says quietly*.* The exceptionally poignant single “Håp om et eller annet” kicked off the summer with a gentle but well-meaning nudge, and after the summer comes a gigantic mega-kick that hurts, in the form of the rest of the album.

*Edit: This text was written by me, Mister Manager. When I asked them for a statement via text message, this was all they had to say: “Hi Mister! You can say that they [read: the audience] can expect new bangers, both songs and concerts :-) Hugs and kisses”
