We’re meeting to talk about the book “Gender Queer” by Maia Kobabe! The book is about 240 pages long and is available in both Norwegian and English. All students are warmly welcome, whether you speak Norwegian, English, or both, and whether you’ve read the whole book, only part of it, or none of it at all. We’ll provide food for those who sign up via the Google Forms link, and after the book club, we’ll head to Kiellandsalongen together to attend the talk “On Burning Books” at 6:30 p.m., where we’ll take a closer look at why books are challenged and banned, in connection with “Banned Books Week,” which is taking place this week. “Gender Queer” is one such book that has been banned or challenged in several countries, including Norway, so we think this is going to be a really exciting day!

Finally, you can read a brief description of the book:
"Maia Kobabe's Gender Queer is a fabulous graphic novel that explores gender, identity, and how to find one's place in the world.
Drawing on Kobabe's own personal story, the book takes us on a journey through the discovery of eir gender identity. It is an intimate and courageous portrait of an artist's struggle to find emself and embrace eir own unique identity."
