KING HÜSKY AND SELMA FRENCH
King Hüsky and Selma French join forces and head out on a joint autumn tour
Each will perform their own headline set, but with musicians and songs crossing over between them, creating a cohesive live experience in which the boundaries between the two projects naturally blend together.
Both artists released critically acclaimed albums in 2025 and have established themselves as exceptionally strong live performers. They are coming to town for an evening featuring both familiar songs and new material from each artist’s forthcoming album, and more.
Selma French
Selma first made her mark with her 2022 debut album, Changes Like the Weather in the Mountain, which was ranked among the year’s best Norwegian albums by newspapers such as Dagsavisen and Aftenposten. Her follow-up album, "No Sign of Rotten Leaves," released last year, also earned top marks from Aftenposten, as well as glowing reviews in DN, Klassekampen and several other publications. It also received considerable radio attention in the UK, including airplay on BBC Radio 6.
Her music reflects an admiration for Norwegian and English folk music, coupled with a thoughtful perspective on contemporary life.
In addition to performing at numerous festivals in Norway and Sweden in 2025 and recently being announced as part of this year’s Øyafestivalen line-up, she has also played extensively in the UK. This includes ten shows with Scottish band Teenage Fanclub and a tour with Euros Childs, known from Gorky's Zygotic Mynci.
King Hüsky
King Hüsky is the new solo project of Vidar Landa, known from hard-rock giants Kvelertak and power-pop outfit Beachheads. Together with Anne Lise Frøkedal, Børge Fjordheim and Arthur Berning, Vidar released one of last year’s most promising and critically acclaimed debut albums just under a year ago. Both the album and its singles have received regular airplay on stations ranging from NRK P3 to the UK’s Radio X, and have been embraced and featured by publications including Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan and Visions Magazine. King Hüsky also recently wrapped up an extensive European tour with Sivert Høyem.
