NEKTAR + HAYEMINOL

“Ingen vår i år” by Hayeminol will go down as one of the year’s most important Norwegian underground albums. — Audun Vinger, Dagens Næringsliv

Hayeminol are back with their fourth album, Ingen vår i år—this time in Norwegian, unfiltered and without a safety net. The record follows Natural Born Failures (2023) and hits hard with punk energy, fuzz, and lyrics that cut close to the bone.

After their previous English-language album, the band wanted to get closer. Norwegian creates less distance, more friction, and greater consequences. Ingen vår i år is about time passing, people clinging on, and the fear of change. About standing still while everything else hurtles onward.

Hayeminol blend punk’s restlessness and DIY mentality with garage rock and hyperactive power pop. There is noise, melody, chaos, and control—often in the same song. Their influences range from Wipers and DEVO to The Beach Boys at their most eccentric, but the sound is first and foremost Hayeminol: loud, honest, and fearless.

The Oslo band formed in 2013, but the idea of Hayeminol had existed in songwriter Ånon Sørnes Bakkjen’s mind since kindergarten. The name is made up, means nothing, and was chosen long before the band could properly play their instruments. They sounded like crap at first. That was the point.

Since their debut album Hayemania! (2019), Hayeminol have evolved dramatically without losing touch with their roots in loud, aggressive rock ’n’ roll. There have been lineup changes, life getting in the way, and new directions—but the energy has always remained constant.

The quartet, all in their early twenties, are known for their high-energy live shows. The band consists of Ånon Sørnes Bakkjen (lead guitar, vocals), Thora Helene Skoglund Tuveng (keys, vocals), Jonas Thulan (bass, vocals), and Bror Meyer (drums).

With their debut album Magnolia and the singles “Sitt Ner (Lilla Jag)” and “Älskar Dig (Oändligt Föralltid),” Nektar established themselves in record time as one of Sweden’s most acclaimed and talked-about bands. The Gothenburg band quickly became an integral part of the Swedish indie rock scene and built a fan base with a level of devotion and loyalty rarely seen today.

Since forming in early 2024, Nektar have sold out shows across the country, been named Breakthrough of the Year by GAFFA, and earned praise from Fredrik Strage, both on Nyhetsmorgon and on the podcast Hemma hos Strage.

Over the course of 2025, the band took several more major strides. After closing Stay Out West with a headline show at Pustervik, they released their second album, Om du behöver mig—an album that cemented their position as one of Sweden’s most influential new rock bands. The album was warmly received by audiences and critics alike and was followed by a sold-out autumn tour.

The album and Nektar have now been nominated for three Grammis Awards: Rock of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, and Music Video of the Year.
