Sondre Lerche & the Band set out on the Acrobats Norway Tour

As is well known, Sondre Lerche is emerging from his lair with new music and corresponding big plans for 2026. Recently the song “Little Kids” was released, to the delight of far more than just Dagsavisen’s reviewer, who gave it a six out of six and described the track as “Lerche at his best, and a step further toward a next chapter we look forward to with excitement.”

And the next chapter revolves around the album Acrobats, which will be released on August 21. After an intensive U.S. tour in September, a return to his home country awaits, accompanied by his much‑loved, elastic and top‑fit band, consisting of Chris Holm on bass, Alexander von Mehren on keyboards, and Dave Heilman on drums. Last year’s two grand, sold‑out gala performances at the Opera House left the audience both slack‑jawed and covered in goosebumps, setting a new standard for what a Norwegian pop artist can achieve on stage in the name of art. This autumn Lerche is eager to get closer to the audience, his beloved musicians, and his enormous catalog of songs.

Lerche has already announced six unique concerts at Oslo’s Parkteatret, two long weekends in a row, October 15–17 and October 22–24. Now the experience is being expanded to include an additional 10 Norwegian cities during the month of October.

“We’re bringing a fairly large repertoire of both old and new this time. I want to bring back some older songs we haven’t played for a while, which might blossom side by side with the new Acrobats tracks. The new material is quite bombastic and fun to play, and the band is groovier and hungrier than ever. We’re incredibly excited to be together again and to meet the audience in tight, intimate club settings,” Lerche says about the Norway tour.

“We’re also celebrating that we’ve been playing together for 15 years, and the bond between us and the music runs deep. This is some of the finest work we do and experiences we have,” Lerche explains.

Already in the first week of the year, Lerche released new music in the form of the EP Turning Up The Heat Again. The three songs received wonderful reviews everywhere: five out of six from, among others, Aftenposten, Dagsavisen, Bergens Tidende and Klassekampen. The latter wrote that Lerche “has hardly ever written lyrics as good and ambitious as these, and manages to tap into the unease of our times. In 2026 he’s knocking on the door of some of the great English‑language pop poets,” while Aftenposten’s reviewer called Lerche “one of Norway’s greatest pop musicians.”

Since that release, Sondre has finished his run in the role of the songwriter Christian in Moulin Rouge! The Musical at Chateau Neuf, which ended up totaling 130 sold‑out performances. Now Sondre Lerche is finally back as himself. Acrobats can already be pre‑ordered on CD and LP, and will be the follow‑up to his previous album, the Spellemann Award‑winning double LP Avatars Of Love, one of 2022’s most critically acclaimed releases. Now new career highs await, along with more shatteringly beautiful, intense and memorable encounters with the audience.
