If one were to describe John Surman in two words: British saxophone legend!

In Norway, John Surman is well known for his long and extensive collaboration with Karin Krog, and he has actually lived in Norway for many years. But was also a central figure in the jazz scene when he lived in Great Britain. Here he played, among many others, with artists such as John McLaughlin, Bill Frisell and Dave Holland.

This winter, Surman is coming with a new project on the record company ECM, namely "Words Unspoken". The musical journey from Surman's imagination to the music sheet, then to the studio and finally live on stage can be described as a kind of mission to find "the unsaid words", or the hidden meaning in the music.

There is a particularly fine group that will be on stage in May. Besides the nestor himself, you can hear another brilliant Briton, namely the guitar favorite Rob Luft. The quartet is completed by two driven men behind the sticks: Rob Waring on vibraphone and Thomas Strønen on drums.

We highly recommend spending the May evening with this quartet!
