Did you know that despite an increase in students with immigrant backgrounds, few continue into academic careers, especially those born in Norway with immigrant parents? To increase ethnic diversity in academia, better recruitment and inclusion are needed across all job categories, including administrative positions. There is a need for increased knowledge about how culture, religion, and socioeconomic background create barriers and this impacts career development.

UiS and the Committee for Gender Equality, Inclusion, and Diversity (LIM Committee) invite you to a breakfast workshop on better recruitment and inclusion of first- and second-generation immigrants.

Visste du at til tross for en økning i studenter med innvandrerbakgrunn, er det få som fortsetter i en forskerkarriere, spesielt norskfødte med innvandrerforeldre? For å øke etnisk mangfold i akademia trengs bedre rekruttering og inkludering i alle stillingskategorier, også i administrative stillinger. Det er behov for økt kunnskap om hvordan kultur, religion, og sosioøkonomisk bakgrunn skaper barrierer og hvordan dette påvirker karriereutvikling. (Strategi for Kif-komiteen 2022-2025)
