What happens to academic freedom when universities operate under war, occupation, or political repression? Is academic freedom a human right — and if so, who is responsible for protecting it?
This panel discussion brings together students, scholars, and human rights perspectives to explore how conflict affects education, whose knowledge is valued in global academia, and what decolonizing education actually means in practice. We will also ask what responsibilities universities in Europe and Norway have when academic freedom and the right to education are violated elsewhere.
The event is open to all students and staff. No prior knowledge required.
