Friday 20 September at 19.30 there will be a concert with the French ensemble Les Saqueboutiers in St. Petri church.
The ensemble comes from Toulouse in France and comes to the festival with seven musicians, three baroque trombonists, two cornetto players, an organist and a percussionist. They have an exciting program they call musical juggling. You can thus experience some of the world's leading performers on the baroque trombone in fantastic interplay and a lot of varied and swinging Renaissance music.
This ensemble is visiting Stavanger for the first time, but one of the ensemble members, the world-renowned trombone soloist Michel Becquet, has visited Rogaland several times before.
This will be a unique opportunity to experience world-class baroque trombone playing!
Bjergsted Brass Festival 2024 is a collaboration between the Faculty of Performing Arts, Bjergsted Trombone Association and the Cathedral and St. Petri congregation.
