"How delighted I shall be to ramble for a while through bushes, woods, under trees, through grass, and around rocks." Ludwig van Beethoven (1770–1827)
Kleven's Forest sleep is an atmospheric and dreamlike tribute to the tranquility of nature. Then follows Weber's Bassoon Concert, performed by a soloist from his own ranks. The evening ends with the Pastoral Symphony, Beethoven's depiction of a rural, idyllic landscape on the outskirts of Vienna. In this bright and light symphony, Beethoven's love for nature is clearly expressed.
