This Thursday we’re excited to offer students an amazing deal – just 20 kroner per ticket – for one of the most famous works in Norwegian music history: Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor.

The soloist is Christian Ihle Hadland from Stavanger.

Grieg revised the work several times throughout his life. The final version from 1907 is considered one of the world’s most popular piano concertos, known for its warmth, lyrical beauty, and use of Norwegian folk melodies.

After the intermission, the orchestra will perform William Walton’s First Symphony. It is grand and dramatic, and represents an important chapter in English symphonic music.
