ORGELNATT - Brace For Impact - Stavanger Concert Hall
Orgelnatt - Brace for impact
Welcome to the concert hall's Orgelnatt - the place for boundary-crossing organ music.
What can you experience this time?
- Calum Builder with his "(Re)constructed Pipe Organ", assembled from pipes of recycled organs.
- Saxophonist Ben van Gelder, educated in New York's jazz scene, together with
- Kit Downes, a versatile jazz pianist increasingly known as an innovator of improvisation on the organ.
- Hampus Lindwall, a Swedish Paris-based organist who in his teens swapped the electric guitar for the church organ. He plays from his fresh solo album "Brace for Impact" where he combines electronics with organ.
An hour before the concert starts on October 18th, there's a chance to join a Sofa Chat between the various artists and the concert hall's organist Nils Henrik Asheim.
No registration is required for this, we just want to gauge interest.
The pre-concert talk takes place on stage in the foyer, as an informal sofa chat between Asheim and the performers.
The audience stands at the bar's high tables.
Start: 1930, lasting about 40 minutes.
