Eir was named Young Folk Musician of the Year in 2022 and can also be heard in the award‑winning band Ævestaden. In 2025, Eir received the Kardemomme Grant and the Norwegian Song Forum’s Song Grant, and composed a commissioned work for Jon Fosse’s “Vaim”, performed at Det Norske Teatret.
Eir blends tradition with her own material in a modern expression. With her latest album “Frydenlundgata” and her debut record “Om jeg lar deg sove må du våkne” (2023), she wants to show that folk music can be just as popular as any other genre – and even if the lyrics are sad, she’ll still make you dance!
