STRUCTURES OF SUPPORT

By Kari Ann Lending Kleiveland

"Structures of Support" is an interactive exhibition that explores the position of "leaning" as a concept of support and orientation through weight and gravity. What experiences related to trust, care and relationships can contribute to our lives? The project addresses questions such as when we trust ourselves and others, and explores the boundary between relying on external support and our own resources. Instead of going to a gym to strengthen muscles, here you enter a space where you identify support systems and train confidence using physical modules and leaning exercises. Visitors are invited to be co-creative in what unfolds in the exhibition space.

At the exhibition opening dance artists Marie Bru Eide, Viljar Irtun Moe and Ingvild Maria Thingnes will give a performative demonstration of the various exercises. During the exhibition weekend, classes will be held by Oda Alexandra Michelsen, who is a yoga teacher and health and exercise physiologist. Information about times and registration will be forthcoming. The project is supported by TOU, Stavanger Municipality and Bergesenstiftelsen. Photo: Oddbjørn Erland Aarstad.

Exhibition opening with performance, Thursday 20 March 6-8 pm

The exhibition will be open from 21 to 23 March, 1-5 pm.
