Fusion 360 is a new tool from Autodesk that takes the 3D world by storm. The tool is both free for students and lowers the barrier to using precision modelling tools.

This is aimed towards complete beginners. From installing the software to creating your first 2D and 3D models for laser cutting and 3D printing.
