Most of us recognize that living in Norway means living in one of the wealthiest countries in the world. And while many of us would love for others to have similar opportunities in life, we often don’t know how to create meaningful impact.
This is where effective altruism comes in – a growing global movement and research community dedicated to using evidence-based decision-making to improve the world as efficiently and powerfully as possible. Why is this relevant for students and university staff? Because connecting academic work to real-world impact is exactly what motivates many of us to work in academia in the first place!

We are excited that Laura Maria Kull will introduce us to the world of Effective Altruism through a 20-minute presentation, followed by a Q&A session and informal discussion.

This event is organized by the UiS Doctoral Community and is primarily aimed at PhD candidates and postdocs. However, everyone is welcome to join!
