My Neighbor Totoro (1988)

On a beautiful spring day, a heavily loaded car drives through a peaceful landscape. In the car sit ten-year-old Satsuki, her four-year-old little sister Mei, and their father. They have moved out to the Japanese countryside and must settle in while they wait for their mother to be discharged from the hospital.

For the two sisters, this is the beginning of something new and exciting, but they don’t hide the fact that they fear the old house they’re moving into might be haunted. One day, Mei and Satsuki meet Totoro, the guardian of the forest, and his retinue, and suddenly their everyday life is filled with magical adventures.
