How about running and fundraising for a charity at the same time? VID and NMS organize Run for a Mission at VID Stavanger!
Run for a Mission is a mission run around campus Stavanger. You collect money from sponsors for our joint Spleis, and run as many laps as you can around our campus. The sponsors can sponsor you with an optional sum, either for the entire race or per lap you manage to run.
Everyone who runs will receive a medal. We also give out gift cards to the three who run the most laps. If you come in first place, you will receive a gift card of NOK 1,000, while 2nd and 3rd place will each receive a gift card of NOK 750 and 500. If distance running is not for you, you can also win a prize for the best outfit!
How do you raise money?
Click on this link: www.spleis.no/runforamission24
-Select "start a splicing for the campaign"
-Log in or create a user if you do not already have a login. You can log in via Vipps, Facebook, Google or e-mail
-Choose the amount you want to aim for your collection. Feel free to think realistically and set a goal that you think you want to reach. Click on "next".
- Make any edits you wish to the text to be included in the collection, or leave what is already there as it is. Click on "next".
-Click on "start the splice" and you're up and running.
In the splice there is an option to pay NOK 10, 25 or 50 per lap you run. This works so that the person who chooses one of these pays NOK 10, 25 or 50 then and there. After the race is over, when you know how many laps you ran, you will get a list of email addresses of those who have chosen to support per lap. This is how you can inform them of the total amount they must pay in.
The splices that are created will be active until 30 September. So it is important to get all payments in by that date.
What are you running for?
This year we are running for NMS's fundraising campaign "Walk for Living water". One billion people lack access to clean water. What you collect goes to provide water to people in Laos. Imagine if your steps could lead to girls being able to go to school instead of having to go every day to a well far away!
Activities around the trail
There will be barbecues, fun water activities and various stands around the track.
Why join?
- Because there are still, in 2024, almost a billion people who lack access to clean water, some of them in Laos. This means that more than 1 in 10 of the world's population does not get clean water!
- Because more than 800 children under the age of five die every day from diarrhea due to unclean water and poor sanitation.
-Because every year children miss 443 million school days due to lack of access to clean water.
- Because it does something to us to contribute to others having a better life.
- Because it is good for both body and soul to be active, and to actively take part in something that changes the everyday life of girls in Laos.
- Because YOU CAN help make a difference by going for clean water!
