What achievements are behind this year's Nobel Prizes? What does the effort, the theories, the communication and the results mean to you and me? Researchers from the University of Stavanger and Stavanger University Hospital respond when we invite to the Nobel event.
The Nobel prizes are awarded in Stockholm and Oslo on Alfred Nobel's death anniversary, Tuesday 10 December. The night before, the University of Stavanger invites you to a Nobel event at the Meeting Square on Sølvberget in Stavanger. Here, six skilled subject experts from UiS and SUS line up to present the award winners and explain the discoveries and contributions that are being celebrated. And that in a way that allows those of us who do not have in-depth knowledge of the topic to understand.

Each panelist has 10 minutes to make us wiser about the various award winners and their achievements. Journalist and presenter Guttorm Andreasen hosts the evening.

Physics: Alvaro Fernandez Quilez, associate professor in artificial intelligence at UiS
Chemistry: Lutz Eichacker, professor of biological chemistry at UiS
Medicine: Kirstin Jonsdottir, molecular biologist and section leader for clinical research at SUS
The Peace Prize: Melina Antonia Buns, associate professor of history at UiS
Literature: Tanu Biswas, associate professor in pedagogy at UiS
Economics: Torfinn Harding, professor of social economics at UiS
