Finally, occult feminist black metal band Witch Club Satan release their much-anticipated debut album. The date is set for 8 March, Women's Day itself, and the album will be a manifesto of feminine power, which will be printed in a limited edition of 666 exclusive LPs.
Witch Club Satan, which consists of Nikoline Spjelkavik on guitar, Victoria Røising on bass and Johanna Holt Kleive on drums, turned the entire music industry upside down when they played their first Oslo concert in the basement of Revolver in autumn 2022.
The trio's debut concert was hailed as one of the Øya Festival's highlights in the renowned NME and Rolling Stone Magazine, and since then the trio has sailed in a tailwind that many Norwegian bands can only dream of. The band is today referred to as one of the world's fastest growing metal bands, and has already performed at prestigious festivals such as Øya, Ultima, Roskilde and Tons of Rock. The concert at Tons of Rock was also recently nominated for the Oslo prize by Natt & Dag.
The album was recorded in the studio of Anders Odden (Celtic Frost, Satyricon, Cadaver), a stalwart within the metal genre. Odden is also a co-producer on the album, together with Vetle Junker (Aurora, Sondre Lerche) and Sindre Nicolaisen.
Odden describes Witch Club Satan as one of the most interesting black metal bands to emerge in the last thirty years, and as hard-working musicians who know what they want with their music and art:
- Watch out for these women. They are constantly working to improve everything they do, and create something special and inspiring for a new generation of fans. Fuck the mainstream, embrace real artists who create art from their hearts. This is the new Nirvana.
The album release will be celebrated with a concert at Rockefeller, before the trio will hit the road and ravage stages around Scandinavia. The trio promises a spectacular show, and with them on stage they have a star gallery from the darkest underground.
