Welcome to the official semester opening at the University of Stavanger 2024! This year is particularly special as the university celebrates its 20th anniversary. This occasion will be marked with inspirational speeches from, among others, Rector Klaus Mohn, concert, and the Head of the Fadderfestivalen (Mentor Festival) will also welcome you to a new and exciting year!

Studying is about more than just study techniques and recipes. In the show "Alene Hjemmefra," Linn Eielsen, creator of the comic strip L-innsikt, takes you through everything you need to know before and after moving out. Expect tips on lighting, dating, ukuleles, and much more!

Akademika will sell Linnsikt's newest book, where you will be able to buy and get a signature from Linnsikt!

The opportunities are many, and there’s so much you can get involved in while you’re a student. Meet over 50 organizations, companies, and student organizations from the region (see the full list at the bottom of the page). Rumor has it that they’ve brought lots of fun and goodies for the students.

 On stage: Musical performance by artist Emilie Eie; Welcome speech; Panel discussion with Espen Knoph from Utopia, Helene Gram from the "Hei student" project, Kristina Renberg from SIS, and artist Izabell.

It is a great opportunity to build relationships when you as a team or two have to work togheter to overcome the tasks! There is a limit of 50 persons, so here you have to be the first to come!

Lucky Bowl stands for Bowling! You can sign up your fadder group for a couple of nice rounds of bowling, shoe rental is covered, each lane contains 6 participants, so here you have to sign up first to get a spot! And possibly hit a strike or two. Its a great opportunity to bulid relations within the group and have fun! NB you only have 2 hours on the course

Note! This event requires a deposit on 50 NOK upon registration, which you will get refunded upon attendance. The deposit is paid either by tip or in cash. More information will be presented in the registration form.

Join an exciting e-bike tour and discover what Stavanger has to offer! We organize a guided bike tour through some of Stavanger's most famous streets. Experience this fantastic student city from the bike seat and see what it has to offer. E-bikes make the tour easy and accessible for everyone, regardless of health condition. 

The tour lasts less than an hour, starting at the University of Stavanger (UiS) and ending in the heart of Stavanger city center.

Join us for a free improv workshop in "Grottene" on Friday the 16th from 14:00 to 15:30! No experience necessary. It doesn't matter if you've never done improv before. The workshop is open to all students.

Improv theater, often called "impro," is a form of creativity where we create scenes, play games, and where failing is the best part. Improv is not only fun; it's also a fantastic way to meet new people, be creative, and have a great time.

Remember! We hold weekly workshops on Mondays in "Grottene," which are free and give you the chance to participate in a variety of exciting exercises and activities, as well as take part in future shows if you love being on stage! Find out more about us here:

Marco Elsafadi came to norway in 1987 and played for the Norwegian national basketball team. He founded the organization New Page in 2002 to help disadvanted youth. He won "Mesterens Mester" in 2014. Maco has also been the host of the TV2 programs "De bortførte barna" and "Hvem bryr seg". He has recived several awards, including "Rolemodel of the Year" in 2006, and delivers around 250 lecutres annualy on topics such as motivation and collaboration

There wil be well-known songs, sing-allongs, dancing, and a good atomsphere with handsome prizes you can also win! Theme wil be announced on Instagram. There are limited places!

18-year-old Mari Bella (aka Mari Eriksen Bølla from Bryne) has always loved to sing, and loves to stand on a stage and perform in front of an audience. At the age of 15, she was the youngest ever winner of Idol Norway in 2020. It opened new doors, and since then Mari has worked dedicatedly to develop as an artist and songwriter. In 2021, she was signed to the record company Sony Music. 2022 she participated in MGP, and after this she has been listed on national, and even international, radio with every release. Mari is a sought-after guest on radio and TV programmes, whether singing or speaking. She is also popular on social media, and earlier in 2023 she was invited to play herself in the Norwegian TikTok phenomenon "Toxic"

We invite you to an alcohol-free barbecue with free burgers in the Mentor Village (Fadderlandsbyen), where we also set up family-friendly competitions. The event is open to all mentors and mentees, as well as their children! So, if you have children, bring them along! If you’ve been working all week, come and join us now! If you are one of our international students looking to meet other international students – come along! This event is meant to be alcohol-free and low-threshold for everyone, and we hope you will join us! If the weather does not play by our side, we'll gather inside the festival tent.

Free Burgers and family-friendly competitions

Gather your Fadder group and join the football tournament on the artificial turf field! We will play 5 vs. 5 with futsal rules. There’s a prize for the winners!

Bring your cheer squad and good vibes, and we'll meet for friendly matches at 4:00 PM.

Registration should be sent by a team leader to leder@uisi.no by FRIDAY AT 12:00 PM. There is room for a maximum of 8 teams. It's FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED.

Football tournament

We open the festival area our third and last concert with a performance by the DJ duo Akast followed by Madcon! It will be a night for the history books! With lots of singing, dancing, a good atmosphere and the most memorable ending for the fadder festival in 2024

The DJ duo AKAST delivered a completely unique show when they played at the fadder festival last year and we are very happy to have them at this year's festival as well! With their electric presence on stage, Sondre Solberg and Sondre Dragset have a connection with the audience that few can match! Everything from good sing-along songs, atmosphere, EDM, to pure chaos is on the agenda when they warm up for Madcon!

We are incredibly proud to have Madcon on stage! This iconic duo has delivered hits like "Beggin'" and "Glow," and they really know how to create a night for the books. The preikestolen hike is a well-known tradition that fadder wants to continue! When you are first in Stavanger, it is recommended to take this trip as Preikestolen is one of the most famous mountains in all of Norway and the trip offers a nice and natural atmosphere away from the big city
