On Tuesday 21 March, it became clear that the government is providing almost NOK 110 million in grants for the construction of student housing in Stavanger.

The funds are earmarked for the U13 project at Ullandhaug, and will go to 277 student housing.

- It is really good news that the government is bringing today. It is important for the students in the region, and of course also SiS, that we get grants to build new housing. This will give more students the opportunity to live safely and comfortably, and at the same time ensure them a more predictable everyday life and living situation. It is also very positive for the development of both the Ullandhaug campus and the student city of Stavanger, says chairman of SiS, Eira Aas Eide.

Chairman of StOr, Sara Bianca Beitz, is also satisfied with the award.

- It is absolutely wonderful that the government chooses to support the student housing construction in Stavanger. We see a clear commitment to student housing, and SiS builds beautiful homes for students - free from the risks encountered on the private market. There is a great need for these homes, and we are working to ensure that 20 per cent of the student body in the region gets a place in a student home, she says.

- Good news, says chairman of SiS, Eira Aas Eide, about the award.
